Orlando McKitterick is a Martial Arts coach at Blaze Martial Arts, Windsor, helping students develop confidence, discipline, fitness and practical self-defence skills through our kickboxing and martial arts classes. Having trained with Blaze for over 6 years, Orlando understands the journey from beginner student to confident martial artist and now supports younger students as they build their own skills.

    Reason for starting Blaze Martial Arts:

    My journey starting Blaze was not straightforward. I was picked on a lot when I was little, as I was a very quiet kid. I never defended myself.  After one incident where I was picked up and thrown on the floor by a much older kid, my mum wanted me to learn self-defence. First, I started Judo as it was very close to home, but then Covid hit, and Judo classes stopped. I joined Blaze.  It was meant to be short-term until Judo resumes; however, I enjoyed it so much that I never left. 6 years later and I am still here…
